Wherever there is poverty, some dark businesses flourish.

Like Hercules trying to beat the hydra-head, governments worldwide would cut one mafia today, only to see two more emerge tomorrow.

Why are they so impossible to eradicate?

Because they are necessary.

Mafias Are the Civil Answer To Poverty

We know mafias bring insecurity, arms, extortion, suffering, violence, and revenge to our cities. Nobody likes them. It should be easy to put an end to them, shouldn’t it?

But we can’t. There are two main reasons why mafias will last for a while:

#1 They cover a market niche

A dark one, an illegal one.

They are the suppliers of drugs, weapons, loans, women, migrants, protected animals, organs, children… Whenever someone is willing to pay a fortune for something illegal, a mafia would emerge to supply.

No hard feelings. Business is business. Offer and demand.

#2 They put food on the table of desperate people
